It was a display of football artistries and motley of talents at a 2-days scouting program organized by Sage Sports Consult, the parent body of Zenith Emperor Football Club, ZEFC.

The scouting program held at Border stadium in Isheri, Lagos witnessed the presence of the vice president of ZEFC Mr. Said Barachou who came to Nigeria on working visit from Holland to discover talents.

During the program, held last weekend, eight teams were invited including the host- ZEFC to showcase their talent. The teams invited were; PUMA FA, De-Clique FA, Schimchi FA, Jimmy Boys, Faraiah FA, SGH Sports, Profilic FA and Golden Boys.

The day one witnessed match between PUMA FA and the host team- ZEFC in the first match while De-Clique slugged it out against Schimchi FA. The encounters ended with some promising talents discovered and taken note of.

The following day, the tempo of the matches increased as the boys of Jimmy proved that their feet were wired to play the round leather games with their display. Also, the second game between Faraiah FA and Schimchi FA lived up to expectation.

The third match could not finish as the rain bid farewell to both teams, leaving other teams to not participate in the program.

At the end of the program, a staff of Sage Sports Consult, Mr. Raijh Edatomola appreciated the teams that participated for honoring the invitation, saying that the program was aimed discovery and creating an enabling platform to develop talents.

Mr. Edatomola who doubles as the president of ZEFC, had earlier charged the boys to take advantage of the program, saying that favoritism would not determine who might be discovered, rather their performance on the pitch.

The vice president, ZEFC Mr. Barachou was elated to feel the breeze of the country and watching African players playing football.   

In his words, “football intelligence, what a player with or without the ball, skills, technicality, age and level of play were the criteria I expected the players.”

He appreciated managers of invited for their team expectation, stating that talents discovered would be helped to bring the best out of them.

Notable individuals that registered their presence include ZEFC’s team manager; Mr. Lanre Oniosun, ZEFC Chief Scout; Mr. Samson Ashaolu.
