
Seventeen years old Zenith Emperor Winger Daniel Ogunseye has scored his first professional goal in the Nigeria’s third division league- 2022/2023 season Nationwide League One, NLO.
The energetic winger who made his professional league debut for the club during the last edition held at Ikenne, Remo Stars stadium in Ogun State, slotted in the ball into the net against Messiah Football Club in the Matchday 9 of the ongoing league season held last Saturday.
Although, the seventeen years old winger only goal for his club could not salvage the club from the defeat against their opponent who played host to them, which ended 3-1 in favor of the host but he expressed that the goal was unexpected.
Ogunseye who sat for his West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, this year, however, said that he felt glad registering his name on the scorer chart in the league.
“I feel very great. It came as a surprise because I did not hit the shot very well but I am glad that I scored.” He said.
Asked about his intention to bang in more goals, he said he would improve on himself to ensure more of goals.
“I intend to score more goals by working hard and be consistent in training and build more confidence.” He said.
For the loss of the match against their opponent, he said he does not feel good about that but assured that the club will return back to winning ways.
